The Humanitarian Fun Run, a national Red Cross project centered on youth, was held at Zhengzhou University's (ZZU) main campus on May 10. The event drew nearly 200 teams and over 1,000 students and faculty.
In his opening remarks, Liu Chuntai, vice-president of ZZU, highlighted the run as an innovative way to build a safe, healthy, and civilized campus. Qin Gaoting, executive vice-president of the Henan Red Cross Society of China, encouraged students to nurture humanitarian values through participation.

Instead of competitive racing, teams of five completed a series of fun, educational checkpoints along the campus route. The course combined physical activity with immersive learning on topics such as Red Cross principles, international humanitarian law, first aid, fire safety, drug prevention, anti-fraud awareness, HIV/AIDS prevention, and voluntary blood and stem cell donation.
The event aimed to enhance students' emergency rescue skills and sense of social responsibility. By imbuing practical knowledge into a joyful team experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of the Red Cross spirit of humanitarianism, togetherness, and dedication.
