Nanjing University (NJU) and Zhengzhou University (ZZU) held a signing ceremony for a new phase of cooperation in Nanjing on May 19. The agreement was signed by Chen Yunsong, deputy Party secretary of NJU, and Shan Chongxin, vice-president of ZZU.

Tan Zhemin, president of NJU, welcomed the ZZU delegation and highlighted the fruitful collaboration between the two universities over the years, particularly in chemistry, materials science, and archaeology. He noted that their joint efforts have become a model for partnerships under the ministry-province co-construction initiative. He expressed hopes of deepening cooperation in emerging disciplines, talent cultivation, joint research on major national projects, and faculty exchanges.

Li Peng, president of ZZU, expressed gratitude for NJU's longstanding support and introduced ZZU's progress in building a world-class university. She noted that ZZU is currently accelerating interdisciplinary integration, advancing AI-driven education, research, and management, and building a high-level talent training system. She said she looks forward to a new phase of collaboration in discipline development, research platforms, joint talent training, faculty and administrative exchanges, and technology transfer.
Both sides agreed to establish regular mechanisms for comprehensive strategic cooperation, contributing to national development and higher education excellence.
