Zhengzhou University (ZZU) held a flag-raising and revolutionary song event on Sept 14 as part of military training for its 2026 incoming students, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Long March. The event took place simultaneously across the main, south, and north campuses, with over 10,000 new students participating.
Following a flag-raising ceremony by the university's honor guard, students recited classic poems, reflecting on the Red Army's historic journey. They then sang patriotic songs, expressing their commitment to the values of the era.
The military training program includes daily drills in marching, posture, and formation, as well as lessons in dormitory organization and themed education on patriotism and self-discipline. The training aims to build students' resilience and a sense of responsibility as they begin their university journey.
