A delegation from Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, led by Hwang Myoungsuk, vice-governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, visited Zhengzhou University (ZZU) on Sept 17.
Zang Shuangquan, vice-president of ZZU, welcomed the visitors and briefed them on the university's academic strengths and international engagement efforts. He noted that Henan province and Gyeongsangbuk-do have enjoyed fruitful cooperation in education and culture over the past 30 years, expressing hope that the visit would lead to student exchanges and cultural arts programs between the two sides.
Hwang thanked ZZU for its hospitality and highlighted Gyeongsangbuk-do's many local universities and its commitment to industry-academia collaboration. He praised ZZU's academic reputation and proposed deeper cooperation in education, tourism, and youth exchange platforms.
The two sides signed an agreement on promoting cultural and artistic exchanges among university students. Both parties agreed to use this as a starting point for strengthening people-to-people ties and expanding collaboration between universities in the two regions.
Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea's largest province, has maintained a friendly relationship with Henan province since 1995.
