On October 31st, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the National Supercomputing Zhengzhou Center Acceptance Conference at Zhengzhou University. Evaluation experts from seven units including Jiangnan Institute of Computing Technology, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other seven units formed an acceptance expert group to give a review to the National Supercomputing Zhengzhou Center Conducted on-site acceptance.

The expert team inspected the operation of the supercomputer system, computer room and environmental supporting facilities of the Zhengzhou National Supercomputing Center. The expert group also reviewed relevant documents. After inquiries and discussions, the expert group agreed that the construction project of the Zhengzhou National Supercomputing Center has met the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Science and Technology ”National Supercomputing Center Management Measures （Trial）” and completed the ”National Supercomputing Center”. The expert group unanimously agreed to pass the inspection and acceptance of the construction goals and construction content of the ”Preparation Plan for Zhengzhou Center”.

Qin Yong, Director of the Department of High and New Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Huo Jinhua, Vice Governor of Henan Provincial Government, Guo Yunfei, President of Information Engineering University of Strategic Support Forces, Liu Jiongtian, Vice Chairman of Henan Provincial Political Consultative Conference and President of Zhengzhou University, Yin Hongbin, Deputy Secretary-General of Provincial Government, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Department of Science and Technology Director Liu Yingfeng, Deputy Director Li Xinjian of the Provincial Department of Finance, Tang Xingli, Second Inspector of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Wei Wenxing, Vice President of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Sun Xiaohong, Deputy Mayor of Zhengzhou, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Zhengzhou High-tech Zone Wang Xinting and Zhao Minghao, Vice President of Zhengzhou University, attended the acceptance meeting. The responsible comrades of related functional units and application units attended the acceptance meeting. The meeting was chaired by Mei Jianping, Deputy Director of the High-tech Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Liu Jiongtian said that the school will further improve the operating mechanism, better utilize the multidisciplinary advantages of Zhengzhou University, strengthen the scientific research, discipline construction and talent training of the Supercomputing Center, and improve the scientific research, teaching and application level of the Zhengzhou National Supercomputing Center in the field of high-performance computing level promoting the application of research results and the transformation to products, and continuously improve the ability to serve the country and regionˊs innovative development.

Sun Xiaohong said that Zhengzhou City will continue to support the healthy development of the National Supercomputer Zhengzhou Center, give full play to the role of the centerˊs major scientific and technological installations, and provide scientific and technological support for Zhengzhouˊs national central city construction and innovation-driven development.

Qin Yong pointed out that the National Supercomputing Zhengzhou Center should actively join the national supercomputing service grid system in accordance with the recommendations and constructive opinions of the expert group, actively undertake major national scientific research projects, and improve service capabilities.

Huo Jinhua pointed out that the construction of the Zhengzhou National Supercomputing Center is of great significance to the development of Henan Province, which is conducive to the in-depth implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and accelerating the construction of an independent innovation system. It is conducive to undertaking major national innovation projects and actively integrating into the overall national innovation and development. It is conducive to cultivating strategic emerging industries, accelerating the optimization and upgrading of Henanˊs industrial structure.
