Recently, the School of Chemistry of Zhengzhou University has made new progress in activating inert chemical bonds with organophosphorus compounds. The relevant achievements have been published in the leading chemical journal J. Am. Chem. Soc as a paper entitled “Cleavage of the Inert C(sp2)-Ar σ-Bond of Alkenes by a Spatial Constrained Interaction with Phosphinidene”. All the authors of this paper are from the newly established Institute of Elemental Chemistry in the School of Chemistry of Zhengzhou University. The first author is Wang Junjian, a PhD student enrolled in 2018 from the School of Chemistry of Zhengzhou University; the corresponding authors are Professor Wei Donghui and Professor Duan Zheng; Zhengzhou University is the first author affiliation.
