The important advances were made in the field of nanodrug delivery therapy by Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong and Prof. Shi Jinjin’s research team of Zhengzhou University (ZZU), whose related findings have been published in the international first-class journals of Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Chemical Engineering Journal respectively, with ZZU the only correspondence unit.

The research team constructed an engineered Nano erythrocytes platform (NEMR), whose paper was published in the journal Advanced Materials, with doctoral candidate Yin Na the first author, Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong, Prof. Shi Jinjin, and associate Prof. Liu Junjie the correspondence authors.

The research team came up with an uninterrupted ROS Generator driven by intracellular self-assembly (URG), whose paper was published in the journal Advanced Materials, with Prof. Zhang Yun, Prof. Zhang Kaixiang, and associate Prof. Liu Junjie the co-authors of correspondence, Prof. Shi Jinjin and postgraduate Nie Weimin the co-first authors.

The team designed Calcium-dependent DNAzyme with high efficiency of PD-L1 mRNA cleavage (cAD), whose paper was published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, with Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong, Prof. Shi Jinjin, and associate Prof. Liu Junjie the co-authors of correspondence, doctoral candidate An Jingyi the first author.

The team used Mn (III)-TCPP MOF as a carrier, loaded the small molecule inhibitor vorinositat (SAHA), and further modified AS1411 aptamer on its surface to obtain photoimmune activator PIS, whose paper was published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, with Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong, Prof. Shi Jinjin, and associate Prof. Liu Junjie the co- authors of correspondence, doctoral candidate Zhao Xiu the first author.

In addition, the team even built an oral probiotic delivery system, whose paper was published in the journals ACS Nano, and Chemical Engineering Journal, with Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong, Prof. Shi Jinjin, and associate Prof. Liu Junjie the co- authors of correspondence, doctoral candidate Yang Jiali the first author.

The above research was sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Postdoctoral Foundation, the Outstanding Youth Fund of Henan Province, and the University Innovation Talent Project of Henan Province.
