Chinese Premier Li Keqiang came to Zhengzhou University on November 4th to inspect the construction of first-class disciplines on material resources. After being briefed, Mr. Premier discussed at length with academicians on several essential technical issues. In the meantime he encouraged scientists to make persistent efforts. By aligning with advanced international levels, it is hoped that an early breakthrough will be achieved.

On hearing the news of Mr. Premier’s presence, many students rushed to the research center. He talked warmly with them and encouraged the students to devote themselves to learning and researching. Knowing that more than a third of the students here are from outside of Henan Province, Mr. Premier felt pleased and hoped Zhengzhou University could gear the education to the needs of both central part and the whole China. With large population, Henan should do the best to make itself the base of talents, which will play a vital role in the rise of central China.
